Recent Logos

it has been a while since i’ve shown some projects i’ve had up my sleeve. i’ve created a few new logos and would love to share!

this first one is for a dear friend of mine who is a fulbright scholar in peru. she is helping to create a community of women called Mujeres Unidas de Candelaria. the women are learning skills and trades to help bring money into their community and support their families. you can read more about the development of that community on sabrina’s blog or you can watch this video.

the next logo is for a couple i know, matt and molly smith, who want to start a blog called Unbalance: the art of harnessing chaos. they will be writing about how they harness chaos in their own lives with sport, community, work, etc.

and lastly, i’ve been working with a friend i knew back in my high school days. she’s is an amazingly talented artist herself and her love is fashion design. alex is working on launching her own collection which she calls cityParc: cultured couture. from boutique to boardroom, she creates apparel that takes professional/creative women from day to night. i can’t wait to share more as she launches a website and reveals her line!

Do not covet.

here is a painting i did for a series on the 10 commandments at TNL. my artist statement can be found down below the photos.

A verse I found which really inspired the image for my art is Proverbs 14:30: “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” The objects were a tangible way to represent the covetous desires which are filling the heart with black and spilling over into the rest of the body. The idea of the rot being contained inside the body felt fitting due to the fact that coveting is perhaps the easiest commandment to break and conceal because only God knows the depths of your heart.

Free The Girls: Fight Human Trafficking

I’ve been waiting for a few of my most recent projects to launch before sharing. Here is one of them, which has been so fun to collaborate on with other folks: Tim Nice, Dan Garza, John Miller, the Terpstra’s, Kimba Langas…the list goes on.

Free The Girls is a cause-focused company with a mission to raise awareness about human trafficking, to create job opportunities for former slaves and to help fund rescue efforts to free more slaves.

New Business Cards

I’ve been working on updating the design of my own business cards. I don’t want to print a large quantity, so I’ve designed a rubber stamp, which I ordered today. I can’t wait for it to come so I can start printing!

All The Above Ladies Event

The folks from All The Above Clothing hosted a ladies-only event back in May. At the event, which was held at the new Spire downtown, girls could try on various shirts from several different potential clothing vendors and rate the styles, colors and fits. Each girl got to leave the event with a shirt featuring one of my designs. Since partnering with ATA I’ve been wanting to show you some glimpses of my work, but also want to keep most of it under wraps until the LAUNCH in September! Stay posted for more details about the Launch-Week events.

All The Above

I’ve been working with Cody Sudmeier and Jessica Jennings as they’re planning and launching All The Above Clothing. I wanted to share the logo designs I created for them. Both will be used, but for different purposes. Eventually, when they’ve launched the shirt lines, I’ll share some of my shirt designs. Until then….

Firebrand

i’ve been cranking away on some more branding as of lately. this most recent project has been with stephanie lindquist over at firebrand consulting. stephanie is a passionate business owner and wanted her company’s logo to reflect the same strength that is found in the name itself. the other part of the challenge was to create a logo that can truly appeal to all of her clients, whether male or female.  below is the final design. to learn more about what stephanie does, please visit www.firebrandconsulting.com

On A Lark

So the latest project to come to completion here at {ampersand} is some branding for On A Lark.

On A Lark is a fantastic little gift shop located in the Wash Park neighborhood, right next to the Wash Perk Coffee Shop. Ivy is undergoing the task of a brand overhaul so a new website and shop look are in the works. I worked with her on the first step…the logo design. Check out www.onalarkgifts.com or swing by her shop to see their beautiful collection of gifts, vintage goods, and furniture.
