Hello again. I just wanted to share the design of my cards, which I failed to do on my last post. Better late than never. Here are my cards for {ampersand} llc.

I just wanted to let you all know I’ve sent my very own business cards to print today. I am quite excited. I am experimenting with a new printer that does spot gloss over satin matte and think its going to look quite nice.

enteraction: Royal Family Kids’ Camp

My church [] partners with a non-profit organization called Royal Family Kids’ Camp every year to host a camp for foster kids. Its a week of camp completely free to the kids who are chosen by having their social workers request a spot. Its basically to pour love out on kiddos who have been through serious abuse or neglect. This is an invite I made for a formal event thanking all the people who donated time or finances towards this year’s camp.

The first was the inital pitch aiming at capturing the fun of camp – plus the theme this year was Sheepfold. The second, is the more formal version which is the route the RFKC staff decided to go with.

Baby Mackey

My pastor and his wife recently had their first baby. I was asked to create an inviation for the open house they are throwing to introduce their little girl to the masses. This is the final piece:

Koala Bear

I’ve always thought I would like to illustrate a kids book. Actually I’ve had people tell me I should too. Anyway, I was just playing around with some fun illustrations last week and thought I’d share.

Anyone authoring a book and need an illustrator? 😉

Amanda and Alan

I had the pleasure of designing a wedding set for a great couple who got married this past June. I met with Amanda and Alan and they described their rich color palette and the wine they were bottling themselves for their wedding favors. From there they had a vision of a monogram to be incorporated throughout all the design pieces, including on the wine labels. Below you’ll see the monogram I created and the pieces that followed.

You Won’t Relent

work lull + illustration motivation = this!
inspired by this song by misty edwards:

You won’t relent until You have it all
My heart is Yours

I’ll set You as a seal upon my heart
As a seal upon my arm
For there is love that is as strong as death
Jealousy demanding as the grave
Many waters cannot quench this love

Come be the fire inside of me
Come be the flame upon my heart
come be the fire inside of me
Until You and I are one

My Wedding!

So after months of planning..the wedding is over. Just like that. It was so wonderful though. Everything was exactly as Nate and I wanted it to be. Well, maybe minus the caterer forgetting to bring water, but hey, it can’t all be perfect, right?

I wanted to show our wedding set. We  worked on the invite together. Nate drew the tree and I made it into a vector file and worked in the design and type elements. I love how they turned out and I still really love our color combo. Also, our RSVP was so fun! The responses we got were hilarious. I should scan some and post to share…

I just want to do a quick shout out to our wedding photographer, Ben Hess []…who did amazing work. We love our wedding photos. And also, our good friend Josh Barrett [] did our engagement photos (as seen on the save the date).

Alyssa’s Shower

I designed this recently for one of my good friends who is tying the knot! We’re throwing her a shower and I volunteered to make these invites. I designed labels to print for the envelopes as well, but will have to work on getting that picture up here. I think they turned out quite fun. For now, the invite…

Periodic Table of Typefaces

This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while. LOVE it. Wish I’d thought of it. Ok, maybe not, but I’m sure glad someone out there put the time and energy into figuring this out. Check out the link for all the details on how they sorted it…
